Flexibility, Efficiency, and Training: The Perspective of OPT OnDemand’s Screen Printing Manager

2025.06.23

With over a decade of experience at the company, Marek Soldan, head of the screen printing department at OPT OnDemand, has witnessed firsthand the evolution of the production floor and the direct impact of transitioning to ROQ equipment. In a recent interview, he shared the key challenges faced before the change and the improvements gained in standardization, efficiency, and training.

“Before the transition, we had six different machines, each with different print formats, varying numbers of positions and color stations, and very different ages. It was extremely difficult to plan production effectively,” explains Marek. “The lack of standardization limited our flexibility and the speed we expect from a modern screen printing operation.”

The transition process was carefully planned, involving not only the acquisition of ROQ equipment but also a strong focus on technical training. “We visited ROQ’s facilities in Portugal and brought our printers along. They took part in a two-week training program, which I think was an absolutely brilliant idea. Our team already had good printers, and with the right know-how, switching to ROQ machines was easy.”

One of the features that most impressed Marek was ROQ LINK, the real-time data collection and analysis solution. “ROQ LINK gives us visibility over where there are inefficiencies in production — empty slots, bottlenecks, or improvement opportunities. This ability to read and adapt will be a game changer for us in reaching a new level of efficiency.”

More than just a technological upgrade, the experience of the OPT OnDemand team shows how combining advanced machinery with targeted training can significantly improve industrial operations and meet today’s production demands.
